HISTORY OF JOHNNY THERRIAULT SCHOOL
In 2007, the community celebrated the official opening of the Johnny Therriault School. The school provides a modern learning environment, with a multi-purpose gymnasium, library, computer laboratories, and outdoor recreational areas for students in JK to Grade 8. Following Grade 8, students attend secondary school in the neighboring community of Geraldton. Inclusion of cultural beliefs and traditional practices in the education program ensures students are supported and challenged to own their learning and to reflect on what they learn through traditional learning opportunities.
